Deep Fried Dough Sticks (Crullers)
ปาท่องโก๋
[ pa-tong-ko ]
Popular Thai deep-fried dough sticks (crullers), cleverly paired together in the middle so they form the shape of a fat letter X. This chromosome-like shape makes them easier to hold while dipping in condensed milk and eating afterwards.
Thai locals eat this fried treat as their morning or evening meal with a hot bowl of joke (Thai congee) or with a cup of tea, coffee or soy milk.
Pa Thong Ko is also considered a sweet snack when dipped in sweetened condensed milk or Pandan / Thai tea custard called Sangkaya.
